Where in the World?

Pad Thai, poutine, pierogi: you know the food, but do you know where it's from? Five dishes a day. Drop a pin on the map and score points for getting close.

How to play

  1. Read the dish, then find where it comes from on the map.
  2. Drag to move around and pinch (or use + and −) to zoom. Tap to drop your pin, and tap again to move it.
  3. Lock in your guess to see the answer. A perfect pin is worth 100 points, and the closer you are, the more you score.
  4. Play all five for a score out of 500, then come back tomorrow for new dishes.

Tips

  • Think about the ingredients: coconut and lemongrass point to Southeast Asia, while rye and dill lean north and east in Europe.
  • Zoom in before you tap. Landing in the right country usually earns 70 points or more.
  • Many dishes are pinned to the city they're famous for, like Naples for pizza Margherita.

Everyone gets the same five dishes each day. Your guesses and stats are saved only in this browser. Map data: Natural Earth.
